The week's biggest tech news in pictures: iOS 8, BlackBerry, Samsung

Apple hit headlines for unfavourable reasons this week, as its update to iOS 8 went disastrously wrong.

iOS 8.0.1 ended up cutting off iPhone network signals and caused Touch ID problems. The bugs were eventually fixed with another update released on Thursday (September 25).

Elsewhere, BlackBerry unveiled its latest smartphone effort in the form of the Passport.

The company made an bold and experimental move by making the device square-shaped with a 4.5-inch Gorilla Glass display and 1440 x 1440 resolution.

Finally, Samsung revealed that it is pulling its laptop business from the European market due to declining PC demand. The firm follows Sony, who sold off its Vaio brand earlier this year.
