Yahoo has announced that it will be closing down Yahoo Directory effective December 31 2014.

The company made the announcement in a blog post that also confirmed that both Yahoo Education and Qwiki will be closed down on September 30 and November 1 respectively.

Directory served as a phone book for every website on the internet in the days before Google and was Yahoo's very first product, launched 20 years ago.

The company made the announcement in a blog post that also confirmed that both Yahoo Education and Qwiki will be closed down on September 30 and November 1 respectively.
Yahoo have shut down more than 60 products in the last two years and the company say this is the latest move in streamlining their products and services.
