Ouija debuts at number one in the US box office

Ouija has debuted at number one in the US box office.

The horror film, which stars Olivia Cooke, sees a group of friends use a spirit board to contact the dead.




The film took $20m in its first weekend, just beating Keanu Reeves' thriller John Wick, which debuts at number two with $15.15m.


Last week's number one Fury drops to three with $13m, while Gone Girl is at four.

The Book of Life takes $9.8m and is down to number five, as St. Vincent is up from fifteenth place to six.

Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day falls three places and takes number seven, while The Best of Me claims the number eight spot.


The Judge is at nine with $4.345m and Dracula Untold completes this week's top 10 grossing films.

The US weekend box office top 10 for October 26 (studio estimates, all figures in US dollars) is as follows:
