The Blizzard of 2015 came and went. It wasn’t quite the “Blizzard of the Century” that we were promised — the kale, butter, and whole wheat bagels we waited two hours in line for at Whole Foods will not go to waste, rest assured — but at least we all scored a snow day! #notakebacks
And for all of you suffering from “Blizzard FOMO,” don’t. Just don’t. Because let’s be real: snow days are never quite as magical as you want them to be. (Sorry, Lorelai Gilmore.) Here are some examples of our idyllic expectations, and the reality of our lives in the wake of snowmageddon. We’ve never felt more betrayed by “Frozen.”
Expectation: You seriously cannot wait to go outside in your cutest snow attire and take a scenic wintery walk.

Reality: You notice a spot on the floor and spend the next five hours cleaning your apartment.
Giphy
Expectation: You’re going to spend the day baking cookies and finally putting that Crock-pot to work.
Reality: You binge on all of the snacks you bought because you forgot to go grocery shopping.
Giphy
Expectation: You and your boo are going to have the perfect snow day together.
Giphy
Reality: OMG. Stop everything. All eight seasons of your favorite show are now on Netflix.
Giphy
Expectation: You can’t wait to go outside and build a snowman!
Giphy
Reality: The snow has already started to melt.
Giphy
Expectation: You really want a Blizzard Boyfriend to cuddle with and keep you warm.
Giphy
Reality: You’d rather listen to Taylor Swift in your sweatpants.
Expectation: You bought more than enough food for the 24 hours you’ll be indoors.
Giphy
Reality: You ate the entire box of Oreos and the bag of Kettle Chips and now you’re literally starving.
Giphy
Expectation: Snow days are just so beautiful.
