A new storyline on the ITV soap will see Callum start fighting for access to his young son, creating a worrying situation for the Platts.

The scenes filmed today saw David literally left in the cold as Max and Callum continued to grow closer by having a kickabout together.

While viewers currently only know Callum as a bad boy, his new plot will see him consider his responsibilities as a father after developing a genuine bond with Max.

Coronation Street's producer Stuart Blackburn recently teased: "There is a massive story for David because Callum as we know is Max's father and he is on the birth certificate.

"What we discovered when doing the research is that as David isn't Max's dad and he isn't on the birth certificate, he has very few rights.

"The one side of Callum that is truthful is that he is going to start to fall in love with Max and we are going to see a massive custody battle prior to the return of Kylie."

Paula Lane, who plays Kylie, is currently on maternity leave and welcomed the arrival of a baby boy on New Year's Eve.
