The use of drones has been banned at London's Royal Parks.

Staff at all eight sites have posted notices informing visitors that "model aircraft" must not be flown within the grounds.

Do you think drones should be banned from public parks?

A Royal Parks spokesperson told The Times that the measures were introduced as drones could affect local wildlife and make visitors uncomfortable.

The ban was brought in under the terms of the Civil Aviation Authority's Air Navigation Order 2009, which restricts drone usage in the UK.

The terms of the legislation state that any unmanned aircraft with filming capabilities must remain a specific distance from other people at all times.

Tougher guidelines governing drone ownership in the UK are currently being discussed by the House of Lords EU Committee.
