Earlier in the evening, the channel's coverage of Crufts was seen by 1.32m (6.3%), while First Dates returned at 10pm to 1.51m (9.4%).
BBC One's primetime schedule opened with The One Show at 7pm - the highest-rated primetime programme outside of soaps - airing to 3.81m (20.6%). 3.02m (15.2%) tuned in for Inside Out at 7.30pm.
Later in the evening, Room 101 aired to 2.54m (11.6%) at 8.30pm, while 3.03m (14.3%) were entertained by the latest instalment of The Musketeers at 9pm.
This week's episode of The Graham Norton Show, featuring Jennifer Saunders, David Walliams, Cheryl Fernandez-Versini, Jack Dee and Johnny Vegas, aired to 3.34m (25.4%).
Over on ITV, Bear Grylls ' celebrity endurance show Mission Survive was up slightly on last week with 3.08m (14.5%) at 9pm, while it was preceded by Barging Round Britain at 8pm with 3.04m (13.4%).
BBC Two's evening programming opened with Wanted In Paradise (810k, 4.2%) at 7pm, followed by 1.97m (9.3%) for Mastermind at 8pm.
Gardeners' World was seen by 2.23m (10.1%) at 8.30pm, and Nelson: In His Own Words, a drama documentary about Admiral Horatio Nelson, aired to 1.03m (4.8%) at 9pm.
With one week to go until Red Nose Day, the second semi-final of Let's Play Darts for Comic Relief attracted an audience of 1.54m (8.8%) at 10pm.
Channel 5's highest-rated programme of the evening was NCIS: New Orleans, with 921k (4.3%) at 9pm. NCIS continued with 817k (4.9%) at 10pm.
Elsewhere, this week's episode of Stella aired to 310k at 9pm on Sky1.
