Huawei Watch may not be as costly as first thought

The Huawei Watch may not be as costly as first reported following a price leak in Germany.

Online retailer Conrad is selling the gold edition of the device for €399 (around £280) and the silver edition at €349 (around £245), according to HD Blog .

This pricing would see the Huawei Watch undercut rivals such as the Apple Watch and LG G Watch Urbane, but has not been confirmed by the manufacturer.

Huawei's smartwatch takes its cues from classic timepieces, placing Google's Android Wear OS inside a luxury device with a circular face and metallic build.

The wearable includes a 1.4-inch AMOLED screen, which features a 400 x 400 resolution, 286 ppi and a 10,000:1 high contrast ratio.

The Huawei Watch will be available later this year, with a specific launch date yet to be confirmed.
