In a series of tweets, the 26-year-old wrote: "Love and respect to all you lovely ladies out there! ALWAYS keep your head up and NEVER stop being FEARLESS!!! #ProudToBeAnIndianWoman
"Women are NOT objects. They NEED to be respected. Women empowerment is the best change to make the world a better place.
"Every 20 mins or so, there is a rape happening in our country. And today we are "celebrating" womens day," she added.

On the occasion of International Women's Day, the Haider actress said people should stand up against abuse every day and not just on a single day.
