Ariana Grande definitely knows how to make a memorable first impression. Just ask her boyfriend, Big Sean.
The rapper recently opened up about his “super supportive” GF and revealed the story behind the first time they met, which had Ariana showing off her rap skills.
“It’s cool, because she was a fan of mine before anything. The first thing she said when she met me was, ‘Yo, I love your music,’ and she rapped my verse from ‘Gang Bang’ with Wiz Khalifa,” Sean told Rolling Stone . “She was just an actress on TV at the time. She’s very open-minded. I’m proud of her.”
She was certainly open-minded about this Sean lyric from “Stay Down,” which happens to about her: “I got a million-dollar chick with a billion-dollar p—y/Every time I come, I swear to God I feel rich,” he raps on the Dark Sky Paradise track.
“I don’t have to run it by my girl, but she hears,” he explained. “I played her the whole album before it came out, so she heard everything.”
The couple are frequent musical collaborators and have been going strong since they were spotted holding hands at the 2014 VMAs last August. Now, they’re frequently followed by paparazzi and written about in the tabloids, but Sean doesn’t seem to care because he’s just really “happy.”
“Really, the way it affects my life is being happy, man,” he said of being in a high-profile relationship. “You can’t measure success in anything but being happy, and she’s one of the things that really makes me happy. I appreciate her, and that’s it. I don’t really pay attention to anything else.”
