Laverne Cox and Idina Menzel were among the celebrities that joined President Obama and his wife First Lady Michelle Obama for the 101st annual White House Correspondents' Dinner last night (April 25).
Journalist and television news anchor Wolf Blitzer was also in attendance at the event alongside iconic American actress Jane Fonda, while CBS This Morning co-anchor and editor-at-large for O, The Oprah Magazine Gayle King attended the event with her daughter Kirby Bumpus.

Saturday Night Live comedian Cecily Strong hosted the event, which was broadcast live on C-SPAN.

In his speech, President Obama cracked jokes about businessman Donald Trump, Hillary Clinton's recently-announced presidential campaign and ABC's Black-ish comedy series, quipping that "being 'Blackish' only makes you popular for so long".
