Todrick Hall Just Opened The Disney Vault And Gave It A ’90s R&B Twist

Good news: You don’t need a DeLorean DMC-12 or supernatural hot tub to successfully travel through time — all it takes is a smattering of animal-print ensembles, a bit of green-screen magic and Broadway bigwig Shoshanna Bean!

YouTube star Todrick Hall, who’ll share the method to his video-making madness on the new MTV series “Todrick,” nearly broke the Internet this week when he posted a new video in which he and Bean perform the biggest R&B hits of the ’90s juxtaposed with the decade’s most memorable Disney tunes, and the result is wizardry Walt, himself, couldn’t have dreamed up.

Embedded from www.youtube.com.

From “The Lion King”’s “Can You Feel the Love Tonight” set against Mariah Carey’s “You’ll Always Be My Baby” to “Beauty and the Beast” ballad “Tale As Old As Time” beautifully paired with Mariah and Boyz II Men’s “One Sweet Day,” Toddy’s tune-fusion will have you tearing up. The harmonies! The costumes! The wink to “The Little Mermaid”’s penchant for using a fork as a hairbrush! Folks, it’s all here — who cares whether the Vault’s open or closed!

Sit back, relax and enjoy some of your favorite ’90s tunes, and be sure to tune in to the premiere of “Todrick” on Monday, August 31 at 10/9c!
