The singer spoke about the "best guys" from the group during the acceptance speech at the Annual Asian Awards in London on Friday evening (April 17).

During his acceptance speech for his Outstanding Contribution to Music award, Malik said: "I'd also like to take this moment to thank four of the best guys that I ever met whilst being in the band and doing all the amazing things that I did.
"Some of the things that we did will stay with me for the rest of my life."
He ended his speech by saying: "Here's to the future."
Malik debuted a shaved head at the awards ceremony - his first public appearance since leaving One Direction last month.
Shortly after Malik announced his departure from One Direction, a solo demo he had recorded with Naughty Boy was posted online by the producer.

The song, titled 'I Don't Mind', was later removed by the 'La La La' singer, though the pair were also spotted attending a joint recording session at a London studio in the same week.
One Direction are currently on a break from their 'On the Road Again' world tour. The four-piece will resume the run of shows in Cardiff on June 5.
