ABC has given a series order to Gossip Girl writer Stephanie Savage 's historical drama Astronaut Wives Club.
Savage is reuniting with Gossip Girl collaborator Josh Schwartz, Michael London (Milk) and Len Goldstein (Hart of Dixie) on the new project.

The series - which is based on Lily Koppel's book - will follow the plight of the women who stood by their astronaut husbands during the space race of the 1960s.

Astronaut Wives Club's series order comes even before the pilot has begun production.
The first season will be made up of 10 episodes.
Savage is writing the film adaptation of Monster High , and is also producing the series Laurel Canyon for E!.
