The latest RAJAR figures released today (February 6) show that radio listening in the UK is at its highest level since records began in 1999. 48.38 million people listen to radio each week.

In the quarter from September 16 to December 15 last year, Grimshaw recorded an audience of 6.29m. This is above the previous quarter's 5.58m, but still down on last year's figure of 6.69m.
Radio 1's overall listenership fell slightly year-on-year, receiving 10.9m during the period compared to 11.09m the year before.
Chris Evans's Radio 2 breakfast show performed strongly, averaging 9.8m over the quarter. This was up from 9.3m in the previous quarter and 9.5m the year before.
Evans registered 15.51m listeners per week, becoming the most listened-to breakfast show in the UK and beating the previous quarter's 14.93m and last year's 15.1m.
Radio 4 was a big achiever after recording a weekly reach of 11.21m, up from 10.87m last quarter and 10.75m last year.

Capital is still London's biggest station
Digital station 6 Music attracted a record weekly audience of 1.96m and could overtake Radio 3, whose audience dipped to 1.99m.
BBC Radio's overall share of listeners against commercial stations did fall slightly. 55.2% listened to BBC Radio, compared to 55.3% last year and 53.4% in the last quarter.
On national commercial radio, Absolute Radio's portfolio of stations registered 17.67m, up 7.9% on the previous quarter but down slightly on the year before.
talkSPORT achieved 3.2m listeners across the three months - its highest ever figures.
In London, Capital is still the biggest station with 2.15m per week, while KISS 100 (1.97m) overtook fellow Bauer station Magic 105.4 (1.7m) to take second place.
