A lot of the fun of watching "True Detective" week to week has been keeping up with all of the wild theories that the sometimes obsessive viewers have concocted to explain the murders in Louisiana. As we approach the final episode, none of the theories has been able to explain exactly who the Yellow King is conclusively.

A new video — I believe — definitively answers the central question at the heart of "True Detective." Who is the Yellow King? You might not believe it, but it's just like Martin Hart said. The answer was right in front of us the entire time.
The real question is how no one was able to spot all of the obvious clues before. I guess we should just chalk it up to the genius of series creator Nic Pizzolatto. He really made all of us look like a bunch of idiots. Stupid, stupid idiots.
The finale of "True Detective" airs this Sunday on HBO at 9 p.m. ET.
