Speaking with Polygon, the anonymous Australian programmer behind the popular interactive stream said that it's likely to continue beyond the current game.
Having just beaten Pokemon Crystal, Twitch Plays Pokemon has moved on to Emerald and there are already plans in place to play Pokemon FireRed.
"I'm planning on doing a run of Pokemon FireRed with a randomizer," the creator revealed.
The programmer is also hoping to make minor tweaks to the control scheme and has commented on the stream's reduced viewing figures.
"I think this is mostly because the novelty is wearing off for a lot of people and it has been reported on less in the media."
The original Twitch Plays Pokemon Red stream ended on March 1.
Pokemon trainer Red was crowned Pokemon Champion after consecutive victories over the Elite Four and his fierce rival in the climax to the game.
The crowd-sourced playthrough took 16 days, 7 hours, 45 minutes and 30 seconds to finish, with 1,165,140 users inputting commands.
