Elijah Wood says a urinal is "the most inappropriate place" to ask for an autograph

Speaking on Alan Carr: Chatty Man , he said: "The worst I think was in a urinal. I'm pretty certain I was standing at a urinal, and someone recognised me, standing next to me.

"You just don't do that. If you recognise someone at a urinal, you don't start to converse with them, it is the most inappropriate place. Wait until they've come out of the loo, perhaps."

Carr then asked: "Daniel Radcliffe says he always gets people thinking he's you. Do you get the same?"

Elijah Wood and Daniel Radcliffe are often confused for one another

Wood, who plays Frodo Baggins in the film series based on JRR Tolkien's novels, replied: "I've gotten the same since the beginning of the Harry Potter films [...] but yeah, I get mistaken for him loads of times.

"I guess he's signed autographs as me – he recently said that he was in Japan and someone gave him a photo of me to sign, and he wrote 'I'm not Elijah Wood, signed Daniel Radcliffe', which is pretty brilliant."

Alan Carr: Chatty Man will air tonight (October 31) at 10pm on Channel 4.
