Mark Wright: 'Strictly Come Dancing nerves are like a panic attack'

Talking to Digital Spy and others, his professional partner Karen Hauer said: "He's completely – he's just nervous. He's a bit of a wreck. Breathing heavily..."

Wright said: "It's very close to a panic attack."

Hauer added: "He freaks out a bit before going, but then when he goes on it's almost like he needs to have that in order to have a really full on good routine. It has to be there."

Wright said that his nerves are at their worst just before he goes out to perform.

"The two or three minutes before I dance, I just go into breathing heavily and then last week I actually had tears in my eyes before I danced."

The radio presenter doubts he can overcome his nerves altogether, and has come to accept it as part of the performance, admitting that he doesn't expect to feel as nervous at his wedding to Michelle Keegan.

"It might be similar feelings, yeah. It won't be a scared feeling, it will be a happy emotion," he added.

Strictly Come Dancing's results show airs tonight (November 2) at 7.20pm on BBC One .
