With Halloween falling on a weekday again, several of the morning and daytime talk shows celebrated the holiday by wearing costumes. George Clooney and his new wife Amal were a popular choice, with both Ellen DeGeneres and Good Morning America co-host George Stephanopoulos, joined by his wife Ali Wentworth, both dressing up as parts of the couple.
While Stephanopoulos greyed his hair and wore a suit and sunglasses, DeGeneres wore a wedding dress and dark wig and attached a life-size Clooney doll. She debuted her costume by walking out of the couple's famous People magazine cover.
“I like Halloween because it’s the one time of year you can dress up however you want, and pretend you’re someone you’d never be in real life," DeGeneres joked. "For me, that’s married to a man.”
Check out video of DeGeneres' Halloween special, including her costumed guests, as well the costumes worn by Good Morning America, Today and Fox & Friends.
[Editor's note: Video and more shows will be added throughout the day as today's episodes air and videos are posted online.]
Good Morning America : The ABC morning show featured a number of pop-culture inspired costumes, including Maleficent (Amy Robach), Elsa from Frozen (Robin Roberts), Tom Cruise's Top Gun character Maverick (Tim Tebow), Ariana Grande (Ginger Zee), Prince George (Lara Spencer in a carriage) and the aforementioned George and Amal Clooney. The show also welcomed special guest Nelly, but you'll have to watch the video below to see what costume he wore.

Today : It may be Friday, but NBC's Today was all about Saturday Night Live this year, with the hosts dressing up as some of the long-running NBC sketch comedy show's most memorable characters. Willie Geist and Tamron Hall transformed themselves into the Spartan cheerleaders played by Will Ferrell and Cheri Oteri. Natalie Morales, meanwhile, dressed as Molly Shannon's Mary Katherine Gallagher. Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb played Mike Myers' and Dana Carvey's Wayne and Garth in a Wayne's World bit. Al Roker and Lester Holt played The Blues Brothers. Matt Lauer transformed himself into the androgynous Pat (no Baywatch swimsuit this year). And co-host Savannah Guthrie made a surprise appearance, just a few days before her official return from maternity leave, as one of the moms in the "Mom Jeans" digital short. She was joined by Today correspondent Jenna Bush Hager and former co-host Meredith Vieira. The SNL-Today switch continued with Kenan Thompson playing Al Roker, delivering a weather report and introducing the segment. The Today hosts were also featured in their own Saturday Night Live-inspired intro. Watch the full costume extravaganza below.
